Here are the African leaders who have congratulated Trump since elected president

Donald John Trump officially became the 45th president of the United States of America Friday.

Since he was elected a number of world leaders around the world have been sending congratulatory messages to the new Commander-in-Chief of American Armed Forces.

Among the first world leaders to send the facilitation was Vladamir Putin of Russia. Followed by a celebratory tweet from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Trump was also congratulated by several African leaders, who are watching tentatively the event unfolding in Gambia, where the transfer of power has not been as smooth as one taking place in Washington.

Leaders from Africa’s Great Lakes were among the first to congratulate President Trump using their twitter accounts:

First was Pierre Nkurunzinza of Burundi, who recently changed country’s constitution to remain in the president’s office despite sporadic protests all over Burundi
